T-SHIRTS & BAGS are coming soon.  Maria is finalizing the design.

    NEEDED:
    1. HELP!  Does anyone drive by the church early Tues. mornings?  WE NEED SOMEONE to move the PRODUCE just inside the door of the church after it arrives (between 6-8 am).  We will have a better idea of the exact time after this delivery...
    2. PRODUCE SPLITTER (since produce arrives around 7 am, this could be a job from about 7 to 8:30 am, or from 9 to 10:30).  Entails splitting produce, weighing some of it, and filling in prices on individual order forms.
    3. Evening Clerk, Clean-Up, and/or Loose Ends.
    4. PRODUCE ORDERER.  Get orders, enter on master order form, call or fax it in.  Ideally the orderer would be able and willing to call a few people if we are close to a case and ask if they want some (some more)....

    ORGANIC PRODUCE HAS BEEN ORDERED
BRING YOUR EXTRA GROCERY BAGS TO PUT PRODUCE IN.
Please sign up for next time, if interested.

BULK ECHINACEA anyone?  Kelly Rutan is thinking of buying some from Frontier Herbs next time to put in empty capsules, and would like to share.  Email me if you might be interested.  She is looking into which one would be best.

During my EARTH DAY research I came across a couple of new research items that make it more necessary for us to go organic and use less energy:
  • Nitrous oxides from chemical fertilizers, car driving & coal burning (in addition to CFCs & chlorine) are also thinning the stratospheric ozone layer over mid-latitudes (that's us), which is projected to cause SOARING SKIN CANCER DEATH RATES over the next 100 years.  Nitrous oxides also contribute to acid rain & global warming, already causing enormous health and environmental harm.
  • Atrazine, a common weed killer, at 0.1 part per billion causes frogs to be born with multiple sex organs (some both male and female).  Drinking water can legally contain up to 3 parts per billion.  The concern is what this is doing to our unborn children.  It is already widely known that pesticides (& some plastics, etc.) cause miscarriages and birth defects.  This research, however, gives evidence that much lower levels of these hormone disruptors than previously thought can cause these harms. For info on how to reduce exposure to hormone disruptors, go to: http://www.wwfcanada.org/satellite/reduce-risk/h_index.html
